A figure wakes on a couch in an open landscape, a lamp and a small table beside them, the furniture of a room set down where no room is. Behind them a sound begins, low and insistent, from a silver orb resting in the grass. They rise and go toward it. The nearer they come the more the sound thickens, until it pushes back against them, a pressure in the air around the orb. They reach through it. They touch the surface. They wake on the couch, in the landscape, and the sound begins again.

The figure does not know they have done this before. The film ends the moment they touch the orb; the return is added afterward, in the room where the work is shown. What looks like a choice is a circle drawn from outside it.

We made this film in a single day, against the way we usually work together, at a time when one of us had just returned home. It is a meditation on home and on returning to it, on the couch and the lamp and the table that follow the figure into a place none of them belong. Home is the thing being reached for, and the reaching is what begins the loop again.
